Risk Assessment
Pyrogallol can be absorbed through the skin and is poisonous so gloves need to be worn.
Hydrogen Peroxide is a very strong oxidising agent so need to avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Sodium Hydroxide is corrosive and can cause severe burns to eyes and skin so to avoid contact gloves and safety glasses will be worn.
Formaldelyde vapours are very irritating to mucus membranes and skin contact can cause dermatitis. There is also a risk of chronic effects if exposed to high concentrations of vapour over time. For this reason I will be working in the fume box.
